ZapSibNeftekhim is Russia’s biggest petrochemical facility with an aggregate capacity of 2.5 mtpa of basic polymers (polyethylene and polypropylene) located in the Tyumen Region (nearest city: Tobolsk).
Although the ZapSibNeftekhim production site neighbours the Alabaksky Natural and Historical Complex, a regional specially protected natural area, it is well distanced (by 20–30 km) from the most vulnerable plant communities of the terrestrial ecosystem. The part of the Alabaksky Complex that is closest to ZapSibNeftekhim (located ca. 2.5 km away from the facility) is a recreational area.
mur Gas Chemical Complex (Amur GCC) is a polyethylene and polypropylene production facility currently under construction in the Amur Region (nearest city: Svobodny).
The closest regional specially protected natural area is the Iversky State Nature Reserve located 27 km north-east of Amur GCC.
SIBUR-Khimprom is a liquid hydrocarbon production facility located in Perm (Perm Territory). Its main products are butyl alcohols and 2-ethylhexanol, ethylbenzene, styrene and polystyrene, ethylene and propylene, and an eco-friendly plasticiser DOTP.
POLIEF is Russia’s largest producer of feedstock for polymer food packaging located in the Republic of Bashkortostan (nearest city: Blagoveshchensk). Its main products are terephthalic acid (TPA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
SIBUR-PETF is a primary and secondary polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production facility in Tver.
Voronezhsintezkauchuk is one of Russia’s largest producers of high-quality rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers located in Voronezh.
Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant is a high-quality nitrile-butadiene rubber production facility in Krasnoyarsk.
Tomskneftekhim is one of Russia’s largest producers of polymers (polypropylene and low-density polyethylene), as well as ethylene and propylene used for their manufacturing, located in Tomsk.
SIBUR-Kstovo is a producer of ethylene, propylene and benzene in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
BIAXPLEN is Russia’s leading producer of biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film with facilities in Novokuybyshevsk, Kursk, Balakhna, Zheleznodorozhny, and Tomsk.
Kazanorgsintez has an aggregate capacity of 1.7 mtpa and manufactures over 170 products, including ethylene, polycarbonate, acetone and other products. It is located in Kazan.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim produces general and special purpose synthetic rubbers, plastics, monomers and other petrochemical products (a total of over 120 products). It is located in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan.
SiburTyumenGaz operates seven associated petroleum gas (APG) processing facilities in Western Siberia. Its main products are dry stripped gas, natural gas liquids, industrial propane-butane, and stable natural gasoline.
TGC-16 is a large power and heat generation company in Russia with facilities in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan.

Zapsibtransgaz operates SIBUR’s gas transportation infrastructure in Western Siberia, covering over 2,700 km of gas product pipelines in the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi autonomous areas and the Tyumen Region. It comprises the Nizhnevartovsk, Noyabrsk and Yuzhno-Balyksky operation centres, main pumping stations and railway racks.
In 2019, SIBUR launched the Lapwing Territory comprehensive bird conservation project at its Tobolsk production site. The Company conducts regular ornithological surveys, holds ornithology competitions, educational sessions and various events.
In 2020, SIBUR took part in EuroBirdwatch, an international ornithological flash mob to count all the birds, including migratory, across the area between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. During EuroBirdwatch, the Company held birdwatching and ornithology competitions for students of five schools. The volunteer bird count exceeded 5,000.
In 2020, SIBUR supported the release of 10,000 sterlet fingerlings into the Belaya River in Blagoveshchensk and 27,700 peled fry into the Tom River.
The Company also initiated a study to count the population of Siberian sturgeon and monitor initiatives aimed at the reproduction of aquatic biological resources.
Tobolsk Forest project
A comprehensive project to preserve and restore forests that includes reforestation and environmental education initiatives for the Tyumen Region residents. It engages local communities, teachers, school children and employees of the Company.
Since 2019, the project volunteers have planted over 14,000 spruce and pine seedlings and restored 3 ha of forest in the Tobolsk forest facility. The initiative was supported by Tomsk activists, who planted 3,000 pines in forests around Tomsk in 2021. The campaigns attracted over 300 participants, including heads of SIBUR’s facilities, corporate volunteers, and school and forest facility activists. They received support from public forest authorities in the Tyumen and Tomsk regions.
In 2020, Tobolsk Forest won the award for the Best Corporate Forest Conservation Project in the Reliable Partner – Environment national contest organised by the Reliable Partner association jointly with the Russian Ecological Society.
Three forest walking routes totalling 4 km developed by SIBUR in collaboration with the Tobolsk Integrated Research Station of RAS (Urals). The routes lie in the forests 1.5 km away from Russia’s largest petrochemical facility, ZapSibNeftekhim.
EcoTrail walking tours provide an insight into the unique Siberian nature and serve as a proof that nature and industrial facilities can co-exist with no negative consequences.
SIBUR’s Kind Neighbours
An art project for environmental awareness raising. Skimen Studio designers transformed four fire and process water reservoirs at ZapSibNeftekhim into a unique art piece housing 96 pictures of local animal and plant species.
