SIBUR-PETF JSC is a subsidiary of SIBUR. [It is the largest/it was the first] manufacturer in Russia to produce granules for PET bottles and is located in the city of Tver.

The Company has modern technological equipment for the production of polyethylene with a capacity of up to 70,000 tonnes per year and production lines for recycled polyethylene terephthalate with a production capacity of 1300 tonnes per year. The technical process is fully automated.
The production site includes a modern warehouse for the silo storage of terephthalic acid — the basic raw material for the production of chips of thermoplastic polyester resin (PET resin chips). Having its own system of sewage treatment plants, the business ensures the efficiency of water purification to 100%.

In SIBUR’s corporate structure SIBUR-PETF is a part of the Directorate of Plastics and Organic Synthesis, headed by SIBUR Vice President Sergei Merzlyakov.

Its main activity is the production of polyethylene terephthalate under the name TVERPET. The business’s raw materials (terephthalic acid) are supplied by Polief, a joint venture between SIBUR and Lukoil-Neftekhim, located in Blagoveshchensk, Bashkortostan. The SIBUR subsidiary SIBUR-Neftekhim provides the business with industrial ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol.

Technology for the production of PET resin chips consists of continuous polycondensation, in which the input pellets are manufactured. The chief advantage of the production of TVERPET is the two-stage filtration and polycondensation at low temperatures, which dramatically reduces the amount of harmful substances in the polymer. The raw material for recycled PET is not only the waste from primary production, but also by-products from the production of food packaging (PET flakes).

Deliveries of polymeric products are made to the domestic market. SIBUR-PETF provides the raw material for the leading producers of foodstuff preforms — blanks for plastic bottles.

The Company’s main products are polyethylene terephthalate, used for the production of containers for soft drinks, mineral and drinking water, beer, vegetable oils and other food products. Secondary chips can be used in the production of PET films, packaging tapes, packaging for automobile cleaning accessoriesand household chemical goods.
