Tobolsk-Neftekhim LLC is part of SIBUR and is the largest enterprise for integrated hydrocarbon processing in Western Siberia.

The production capacity of Tobolsk-Neftekhim includes a central gas fractionation plant with a capacity of 3 million tonnes of liquefied gas per year, the production of monomers for the manufacture of synthetic rubber — butadiene (180,000 tonnes per year) and isobutylene (90,000 tonnes per year), as well as the production of methyl tert-butyl ether.

In the corporate structure of SIBUR Tobolsk-Neftekhim is part of the Directorate of Hydrocarbon Feedstock, headed by Vice President Michael Karisalov.

Tobolsk-Neftekhim receives and processes NGL, which arrives at the company through the pipeline from SIBUR’s Western Siberian gas processing plants. In the future, at the gas fractionating plant raw materials will be divided into separate factions: propane, butane, isobutane, etc. After this, liquefied petroleum gases and monomers (butadiene and isobutylene) obtained by one-step dehydrogenation, will arrive at SIBUR’s petrochemical operations. Isobutylene is also used by Tobolsk-Neftekhim to produce methyl tert-butyl ether.

The main products are liquefied gases, which are used as raw materials by petrochemical companies for the production of individual hydrocarbons. Butadiene and isobutylene are starting monomers for the production of synthetic rubbers, which, in turn, are used in the production of resins. Methyl tert-butyl ether is used as an oxygen-containing, high-octane component in the production of unleaded, ecologically clean gasoline.
