NIOST LLC (Tomsk) is SIBUR’s scientific centre for chemical technologies. NIOST is the largest Russian scientific centre of chemical profile by its experts' competence and equipment level. Real processes are simulated in the laboratories of NIOST, which take place at the Holding’s enterprises.

NIOST is engaged in 25 projects in total, worthy of mention among which are development of new products and processes in the field of plastics and rubbers: compounds, polymerization catalysts, and mechanisms of waste management of pyrolysis operations.

NIOST realizes a number of programs in cooperation with other national scientific centers, in particular Moscow State University named after M.v. Lomonosov, Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis named after A.v. Topchiev, Institute of Catalysis named after Boreskov, YuRD-Center, and Tomsk Polytechnic University.
